Beneficial Brainwashing
The phrase is deliberately uncomfortable. It means using the tools of propaganda on yourself, for your own good.
Strip the mystery away. Beliefs are installed by repetition and environment — that is how advertising works, and it works on you whether you arrange it or not. The only question is who chooses the message: the loudest merchant, or you.
So the method: choose the sentences you want to believe — "I finish what I start," "I am the kind of person who exercises" — and place them where your eyes land daily. The mirror, the phone screen, the kettle. It feels foolish for a week. Then the repetition does what repetition has always done.
You will be brainwashed in any case; the world will see to that. This is merely taking the brush into your own hand. Paint something you would be proud to become — then read it until it reads you.
