Prestige Learning Bias
Prestige Learning Bias does not feel like an error when you are inside it. That is precisely what makes it one.
The bias is not stupidity; it is thrift. The mind evolved to decide quickly with little information, and it still runs that old software on a new machine. Most days the thrift serves us. Some days it quietly picks our pocket.
What this concept offers is a pause — one extra beat between what happens and what you do about it. Civilisation, someone said, is measured in that beat.
Think of the tuition teacher who says, 'First learn the formula, then forget where it came from — and then, one day, remember it properly.' That three-step journey is how all real learning travels.
Learning is the one wealth that survives every partition of fortune. Keep it like a good key: accessible, unlabelled, and used often.
